About the Role

This position is responsible for the operation of compressors, motors, cooling equipment, pumps, valves, pipelines, and other related gas processing equipment. The role ensures cost-effective and efficient operation of gas processing and treating units, as well as associated equipment within gas and liquid facilities and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, and maintain equipment and systems at plant facilities, including cryogenic plants, hydrocarbon fractionation units, process controls and measurement, LNG facilities, engines and compressors, pumps, pump stations, pressure relief systems, instrument air systems, dehydrators, fuel systems, treating, emergency shutdown systems, reciprocating compressors, gas-fired heaters, process pumps, amine treating systems, inlet gas receivers, and NGL storage and transfer facilities in compliance with procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Optimize processing by maintaining proper product specifications.
• Respond to alarms and problems within the plant and take corrective measures.
• Monitor and control pressures, temperatures, flow rates, and levels to achieve desired operating results and ensure proper equipment operation under current process conditions, such as starting, stopping, or adjusting equipment rates.
• Maintain compliance with partnership and environmental standards (PSM-SPCC-TNRCC), including creating and maintaining required reporting and readings.
• Complete all PSM-required operator certifications, where applicable.
• Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives.
• Communicate with partnership control centers, business groups, and other operating groups as necessary.
• Oversee construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties.
• Perform lab tests for quality assurance, diagnose mechanical problems, complete minor repairs, assist technical staff, and handle other assigned tasks.
• Monitor field compressor status using SCADA.
• Comply with partnership safety policies and procedures, including energy isolation lockout/tagout (LOTO).

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Relevant industry experience:
  • Level C: 0 – 2 years
  • Level B: 2 – 4 years
  • Level A: 4+ years
• Valid driver’s license in state of residency.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a group environment and independently as a self-starter.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including shift rotations and call-outs.
• Ability to react to high-stress or emergency situations in a deliberate, thoughtful, and timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn and perform operation and maintenance tasks for various facilities and equipment.
• Proficiency with computers, including MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook), work training systems, time reporting, expense reporting, and online documentation.
• HIMI software operations experience.

Work Environment

• Frequent exposure to heat, cold, and other adverse weather conditions.
• Working conditions may include confined spaces.
• Repetitive standing, walking, bending, stretching, reaching over shoulder height, and climbing ladders up to 25 feet.
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs with or without assistance.
• Work in and around industrial and construction settings, including exposure to hazardous products, processes, materials, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and loud machinery. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
• Reliable attendance at work.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.
