Plant Operator

About the role

The Plant Operator is responsible for collecting and analyzing samples throughout the Ethanol Process including the areas of Milling, Cook, Fermentation, Evaporation, Distillation/Dehydration, Centrifuges/Dryers and Water Treatment.

Responsibilities

• Report any analyses that are not in operating specification to the Board Operator and the Lead Operator so changes to the process can be made.
• Handle and mix various chemicals that are added to the process.
• Learn the process flows throughout the plant and assist other team members in troubleshooting plant process issues.
• Operate the plant from the Distributive Control System as part of a four-team member crew.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous related plant work experience preferred.
• Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
• Ability to follow direction and Standard Operating Procedures in a safe manner.
• Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend basic English.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months experience in a similar position within an ethanol plant.
