Responsibilities
- Train on-site personnel
- Corrective and preventative maintenance of equipment
- System testing and troubleshooting
- Maintain spare parts inventory
- Manage and monitor SCADA for the generation asset and substation
- Audit O&M contractor's work and safety procedures
- Plan and schedule equipment maintenance activities
- Communicate with off-takers and transmission providers
- Manage transmission line performance and quality
- Ensure NERC/ISO compliance
- Manage monthly, annual, and periodic facility reporting
- Manage operational and HSQE procedures
- Write JSA, procedures, and work instructions
- Alert management of emerging faults and issues
- Identify and appraise plant improvement opportunities
- Review invoices and costs charged to the asset
- Coordinate with RES Fleet Management
- Provide relief site management or operational support
- Perform tasks as directed by management
Requirements
- Manage safe and reliable operation and maintenance of the generation asset
- Lead and manage site safety and environmental concerns
- Comply with RES HSQE standards
- Manage staff or subcontractors in performing O&M on site
- Oversee on-site work, including employees, contractors, or OEM technicians
- Coordinate with contractors before, during, and after work
- Manage and maintain spare parts inventory
- Use facility materials and equipment properly
- Manage and monitor SCADA for the generation asset and substation
- Track failures, alarms, downtime, maintenance and repairs, plant status and trends, and HSQE issues
- Ensure timely facility repairs and restarts after plant outages or equipment faults
- Manage and inspect transmission lines performance, safety, and quality
- Complete and assist with NERC/ISO compliance reports
- Establish quality relationships with clients, landowners, community, local authority, and other stakeholders
- Liaise with landowners of the facility
- Manage operational and HSQE procedures
- Advise V.P., Director, Area Site Manager, and Asset Manager on costs and required maintenance
- Conduct timely, effective performance reviews
Qualifications
- High school/GED Diploma or equivalent
- 4 years of experience required
- Associate’s degree in Operations required
- Certification in OSHA, crane safety, or HV preferred
- 3+ years site Operational experience required
- Self-motivated, able to think quickly and address issues as they arise
- Intermediate Excel and Office skills
- Ability to use and troubleshoot basic office equipment
- Understanding of network equipment, troubleshooting a plus
- Advanced record keeping skills
- Skilled in public relations and leadership
- Basic understanding of accounting concepts
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Basic electrical (low voltage) and switching (high voltage) knowledge and experience
- Skilled in public relations and leadership
- Basic mechanical skills preferred
- First Aid and CPR a plus
- Comfortable with empowering others
- Valid Driver’s License required
