Plant Manager - Phoenix, AZ

About the Role

Lead the operation, build the team, and elevate performance at PAC by ProAmpac in Phoenix, AZ. This role oversees total facility performance, including production, financials, engineering, maintenance, quality, materials, supply chain, warehousing, logistics, safety, and people leadership. If you’ve led a high-speed, high-volume manufacturing operation, developed strong leaders, and used Lean and Continuous Improvement to deliver measurable results, this is an opportunity to influence an entire operation.

Responsibilities

• Own plant performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, people, and customer expectations
• Develop and execute the annual operating budget; manage expenses, standard costs, labor, materials, and variances
• Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, engagement, and operational discipline
• Lead initiatives that increase throughput, improve quality, reduce cost and inventory, strengthen reliability, and support profitable growth
• Partner across Safety, Quality, Engineering, R&D, L&D, HR, Supply Chain, and other functions to improve plant performance
• Strengthen production planning, inventory management, vendor relationships, maintenance effectiveness, and material flow
• Use data, operational metrics, ERP systems, and structured problem-solving to drive sustainable improvements
• Champion Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
• Ensure strong Quality Management Systems and manufacturing processes are maintained and improved
• Lead capital, engineering, process improvement, and operational projects that enhance long-term capability

Leadership

• Develop supervisors, managers, and future manufacturing leaders
• Create clear expectations and accountability throughout the operation
• Listen to employees and identify opportunities to improve the employee experience
• Partner with HR and L&D on recruiting, onboarding, development, performance management, and workforce planning
• Foster a workplace built on fair treatment, communication, inclusion, development, and respect
• Be a visible, credible leader throughout the plant and community

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership
• 3+ years of senior manufacturing management
• Demonstrated success in high-speed, high-volume manufacturing
• Strong Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience
• Proven leadership, coaching, and team-building capabilities
• Experience managing budgets, financial performance, income statements, standard costs, and variance analysis
• Strong understanding of operations, quality, engineering, maintenance, materials, supply chain, inventory, and production planning
• Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Leadership of a manufacturing operation with 250+ employees
• Experience in printing, blown-film or coextruded extrusion, flexible packaging, protective packaging, converting, or related environments
• Industry or Continuous Improvement certifications
• Strong ERP and manufacturing systems knowledge
• Advanced Excel and analytical capabilities
