Plant Manager, Las Cruces
About the role
The Plant Manager will oversee all operations at the manufacturing plant in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Reporting to the VP, North America, Consumer Supply Chain Operations, the role involves preparing and submitting budgets, managing facilities and equipment, resolving plant complaints, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and submits annual expense and capital budgets.
- Develops short and long range (5 years) facility and equipment plans.
- Applies Lean / Sigma/ TPM skills and methodologies to eliminate losses, build capability, and deliver results.
- Affirms that the site operates in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
- Directs the resolution of plant controllable complaints and SLOB.
- Affirms that all plant activities comply with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies and McCormick Company Policy & Procedures.
- Operates within the approved budget for the plant.
- Oversees the development, submission, and execution of plant related CAAP’s.
- Identifies, prioritizes, plans, and directs the execution of operational related issues through Operations leaders.
- Designs strategies, procedures, and people utilization for improving reliability of equipment, efficiency, productivity, and performance while reducing inventory and waste.
- Create an empowered culture to ensure that organization and its people understand the goals and objectives of the business and have the resources and leadership support to accomplish them. Provide an environment which ensures and provides for open and healthy communications.
- Analyzes manufacturing performance and initiates actions to correct deviations from schedules, cost, and other factors.
- Affirms effective customer service and relations through timely delivery of quality product. Ensures strong relationships are developed and maintained with key customers and vendors.
- Establishes and maintains comprehensive continuous improvement processes that maximize productivity, reliability, quality and safety.
- Selects and develops key leadership roles within the Plant to develop internal candidates for succession planning. Oversees that training programs are in place to develop skill levels of all employees in the organization.
- Affirms compliance of all plant operations with organizational policies and procedures and national, regional and local regulations. Assures a safe working environment ensuring that all employees understand their role and commitment to the safe operation of the facility.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Finance or a related field.
- A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing facility, with a minimum of 7 years leading in a TPM or Lean manufacturing environment.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Experience working in a TPM environment.
- Experience with Food Safety and GMPs.
- Proven project management skills, with the ability to participate in initiatives according to business needs and strategy.
- Demonstrated ability building and sustaining relationships at all levels required, promoting a high performance organization.
- Experience organizing, tracking and completing short and long term projects and tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to resolve issues with strong influencing, diplomacy, and partnering skills in order to grow business relationships and guide business partners to the best solutions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours to support the needs of a multi shift operation.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Finance or a related field.
- Required: 12+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing facility, with 7+ years leading in a TPM or Lean manufacturing environment.
- Required: Bilingual in Spanish and English.

- Preferred: Experience working in a High Performance Work Systems (HPWS) and/or Self Directed Work Team environment.
- Preferred: Knowledge of SAP, manufacturing methods and related equipment.
- Preferred: Experience in the food and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.

Pay
Base Salary: $140,610-253,080
Eligible for Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan and Long-Term Incentive Plant (LTIP).
