About the role

As the Plant Manager at our milk production facility in San Leandro, CA, you will oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, quality control, and safety. You’ll manage production schedules, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and product quality. Your leadership will drive performance, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality milk products to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership, aligning plant strategies with organizational goals.
  • Optimize plant operations for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the production team.
  • Uphold quality standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal specifications.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Manage resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and raw materials.
  • Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular audits to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and manage inspections.
  • Oversee budget management, balancing cost control with operational needs.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 7 to 10 years of increasing levels of responsibility in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years’ experience with implementing Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Strong leadership background with the ability to direct a diverse unionized workforce.
  • Financial/budget management experience.
  • Capital project development, cost estimation, and management skills.
  • Proven negotiation, management, interpersonal, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Production Engineering knowledge.
  • Ability to interface with regulatory agencies.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and develop employees.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and ability to learn additional business-related applications.

Pay

Salary range: $145,000 to $175,000 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
