Core Duties And Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to meet or exceed customer expectations and production goals.
- Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols and ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Establish and maintain quality control standards, ensuring all products meet required specifications and driving continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma) to enhance product quality and reduce waste.
- Develop and coordinate manufacturing schedules, optimize workflow, and allocate resources (personnel, equipment, raw materials) effectively to achieve production targets and on-time shipping.
- Prepare and manage operational and capital budgets, analyze costs, and implement cost-reduction measures to ensure financial objectives are met.
- Recruit, hire, train, and manage plant personnel, including supervisors and production workers. This involves motivating the team, resolving conflicts, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Care for and oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment and the facility to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Collect and analyze production data and performance metrics (Key Performance Indicators) to identify areas for improvement and report progress to the organization.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Three to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including previous supervisory or management roles.
- Ability and willingness to perform hands-on tasks as needed.
- Strong ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team effectively.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to quickly identify and resolve operational issues and supply chain glitches.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear direction, reporting, and collaboration across departments and with external stakeholders.
- In-depth understanding of production processes, machinery, quality control standards (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma), and safety regulations.
