ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directs Production Managers to manage the daily activities of all manufacturing production workers including: safety, sheet metal, rolling steel door assembly, and maintenance departments.
- Develops and owns the Manufacturing expense budget and related expenditures.
- Defines staffing needs and works with HR to maintain those levels.
- Upholds and guides production with respect to safety, quality, delivery and cost (SQDC), in this order.
- Directs maintenance teammates to ensure operating equipment uptime meets production schedules.
- Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering Manager and Quality Team to achieve product and process improvements, capital appropriation requests, machinery selection and installation.
- Owns the Safety, 5S/Lean Programs, ensures adherence to Company policies, and maintains the BMS processes for manufacturing operations.
- Maintains good employee relations and adherence to company policies and procedures, developing those as necessary and takes proper disciplinary measures when required.
- Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.
- Establishes and publishes production metrics to ensure we meet our productivity objectives and find new ways to improve production efficiencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required, Engineering or other related field
- 7+ years of progressive manufacturing experience, metals manufacturing experience a plus
- Plant Manager experience strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of production planning, LEAN manufacturing, and safety required
- Solid knowledge and experience with quality and inspection processes
