About the role
The Plant Manager is the highest authority in the plant responsible for the daily operations, efficiency, safety, and quality of 2K Polymer - UK.
Responsibilities
- Liaison with UK Plant for guidance to support customer needs.
- Safety, Health & Environmental Oversight: Lead and sustain a Zero Incident / World-Class Safety culture. Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, state, and local regulations, maintain audit readiness, and drive continuous improvement in Environmental, Health, and Safety performance.
- Accountable for incident reporting, investigation, corrective actions, required training, emergency preparedness, and environmental compliance programs at each facility.
- Manage Operating Budget: Lead continuous improvement initiatives, Inventory: Work with both Supply Chain and Master Planner/Scheduler to maintain raw material stock / reorder levels. Maintain accurate inventory levels including cycle counts and annual physical inventory, Production: Work with Master Planner/Scheduler on fulfilling production requirements. Accountable for production quality. Maintain MRO spending budget. Implement Lean Manufacturing improvements where needed.
- Maintenance: Direct maintenance department activities to ensure maximum uptime. Ensure preventative maintenance schedule is adhered to.
- Shipping & Receiving: Oversee shipping & receiving department to maximum cost efficiency and ensure on-time delivery. Maintain plant cleanliness & organization in accordance with 5s methodology.
- Employee Management: Maintain appropriate staffing levels in accordance with production needs. Responsible for approving employee work schedules/time/attendance. Ensure compliance with performance management/attendance policy. Develop team members using STEP program and other developmental tools. Perform additional projects, duties or assignments as directed by management.
Qualifications and Competencies
- College degree in business or engineering, or related experience required.
- Supervisory experience in a manufacturing, fabrication and/or machine shop environment required.
- Lean manufacturing background preferred.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- ERP/MRP software experience needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage, direct, and motivate a team.
- Ability to multitask and set priorities.
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
