About the role
The Plant Manager position is available at the Casa Grande, AZ, USA location of Hexcel, a global leader in advanced composites technology and carbon fiber production. This role oversees the largest high-performance aerospace honeycomb manufacturing plant in the world, driving operational excellence through continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and disciplined cost management.
Responsibilities
- Lead operations of the largest high-performance aerospace honeycomb manufacturing plant in the world.
- Develop and execute comprehensive annual operating plans and lead efforts to provide world-class levels of safety and environmental performance.
- Drive on-time delivery of high-quality products to a worldwide customer base.
- Lead continually improving and intricate processes and systems in all areas (operations and business).
- Understand and analyze cost / financial performance and take actions necessary to achieve optimized results.
- Build a positive work environment and inspire a high-performing workforce, achieving maximum results and employee satisfaction.
- Oversee management of supply chain to ensure effective cash management, uninterrupted production, and minimized costs through utilization of a robust ERP system and production plan modeling.
- Actively represent operations in business discussions and collaborate with site and global Hexcel teams.
- Proactively analyze and manage all relative operations performance metrics.
- Represent Hexcel to customers and suppliers in operations-related matters and represent the company in community matters to help establish Hexcel as an employer of choice and good industrial neighbor.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree required, preferably in engineering, chemistry, related technical or scientific discipline.
- At least ten years’ experience in a multi-shift, multi-product manufacturing environment, preferably in a continuous-run, material processing operation, or five years’ experience in the honeycomb composites industry.
- Strong orientation for excellent service to customers (internal or external).
- Displays integrity, leading by example, strong work ethic, visible and approachable on the production floor, positive motivator, and mentor, effective manager of change.
- Experienced in being highly efficient and organized in a fast-paced environment, providing sound reasoning and judgment, problem-solving and decision-making, perseverance in the face of obstacles, collaborative, and open leadership style.
- Prefer experience leading continuous improvement efforts leveraging best practice tools and approaches (e.g., lean, six sigma, participative work teams, communications, measures, supply chain, etc.) and producing measurable results.
- Prefer Aerospace industry experience (AS9100 Quality Standard), experience with cross-functional business activities (Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, R&T, etc.), supply chain management/systems capability and experience, and prior responsibility for P&L at a plant-level with full knowledge of cost modeling, analysis, and related business implications.
