About the role
The Plant Manager oversees daily operations including manufacturing, facilities, and maintenance departments at Grandstand. Key responsibilities include ensuring efficient production, managing staff, enforcing safety protocols, and coordinating facility maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Communicate clear job expectations and monitor performance within direct supervision.
- Collaborate with Production Leads to ensure quality standards are met and make decisions on production continuation or cessation based on quality of decoration.
- Delegate tasks, manage workflow, and address issues related to order delays or quality/art problems.
- Evaluate and optimize plant layout and material workflow for increased productivity and efficiency.
- Maintain and enhance maintenance programs, manage tool and supply purchases, and respond to emergency situations.
- Initiate, educate, coordinate, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); monitor and enforce safety and workplace policies and procedures.
- Monitor budgets and report progress to management.
- Attend and participate in meetings and provide feedback to management on production capacity, staffing, and equipment needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Three to five years of management experience in a production facility.
- Knowledge of screen-print operations preferred.
- Basic math knowledge required.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational and prioritization skills.
- Dependable and punctual with a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
Qualifications
- Experience with vendor coordination and management.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 35 pounds consistently, with heavier weights necessary at times.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring frequent walking, standing, reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate a forklift and scissor-lift.
