About the role
The successful candidate will lead the overall operation of the facility, from receipt of raw materials through the shipment of finished plywood to market. They will develop, lead, and mentor a high-performing team to drive engagement, accountability, and long-term value creation through a Principle-Based Management (PBM®) culture.
Responsibilities
- Develop, lead, and mentor Principled Entrepreneurs to drive engagement, accountability, and long-term value creation through a Principle-Based Management (PBM®) culture.
- Lead the overall operation of the facility, from receipt of raw materials through the shipment of finished plywood to market.
- Ensure the facility meets company expectations for production scheduling, inventory control, operating rate, fiber recovery, and financial performance.
- Demonstrate personal ownership of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) performance by building systems, leadership behaviors, and organizational capability that drive an injury-free and environmentally compliant workplace.
- Lead and sustain transformational change initiatives that improve safety, reliability, quality, and cost competitiveness.
- Formulate and execute business improvement strategies that deliver measurable operational and financial results.
- Select, develop, and lead a high-performing leadership team that works collaboratively to achieve facility objectives.
- Maintain strong working relationships with peers across procurement, sales, accounting, HR, engineering, and other support capabilities.
- Ensure the facility complies with all applicable company policies and state, federal, and local regulations.
Requirements
- Three (3) or more years of experience leading manufacturing operations, including ownership of safety, production, maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement in a complex operating environment.
- Experience leading and managing direct reports, including identifying talent gaps, coaching and development, performance feedback, and incentive alignment.
- Working knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) management systems, risk assessment and mitigation, and project planning and execution.
- Ability and commitment to work safely while promoting and enforcing safe work practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Wood Science.
- Experience in leading or supporting large capital engineering or management projects.
