Plant Manager
Position Overview
The Plant Manager position is located at one of Eaton’s largest facilities in North America, based in Jackson, MI. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this role encompasses all plant management functions including Production, Operational Excellence, Supply Chain, Programs Management, HR, and Finance.
Essential Functions
Set overall plant policies and procedures to ensure effective operations consistent with the Eaton Business System, Values, and Philosophy.
Coordinate and direct through managers, all functions of facility operations, including but not limited to Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, SCM, OpEx, HR, and Finance.
Align operational objectives with the overall business objectives to ensure a strategy-focused workforce.
Manage operating performance through the effective use of the Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS) process and structured problem solving.
Direct and mentor Jackson leadership team in the performance of their respective roles and consistent with the Eaton Leadership model.
Foster an environment which promotes Eaton’s goals, encourages continuous improvement, and builds customer relationships.
Drive the compliance to the ethics policy and hold others accountable for ethical conduct.
Develop, control, and critically review results of operation in reference to planned objectives.
Lead and develop a workforce of highly motivated employees, engaging with UAW Local 475 leadership and members to maintain high engagement levels conducive to performance being measured at or above minimum acceptable levels.
Attract, select, develop, train, coach, appraise, and motivate managers and other personnel for key staff positions and the facility.
Represent the company in the local community to enhance its image and reputation.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of progressive operations experience or experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum 2 years of management/supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of current manufacturing, materials/purchasing, and quality assurance methods and practices.
Thorough understanding of financial practices and financial statements, including capital equipment analysis, cost accounting, budgeting, project cost analysis, maintenance analysis, and organizational techniques.
Demonstrated ability to drive change and successfully lead and implement these change initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to manage direct reports and build organizational capability.
Strong communication skills and comfort with facilitating teams/groups and working with all levels in the organization.

Education
An undergraduate degree is required.
A Master’s degree is preferred.
Compensation
The expected annual salary range for this role is $182,000 - $266,000 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

This position will be based in Jackson, MI.
