Plant Manager
About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, highly disciplined, and high-energy individual to lead the team as the Plant General Manager. This role reports directly to the Head of Business Unit and involves overseeing all plant operations, making crucial decisions for the company, and managing financial aspects of plant operations. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with the third-party logistics and/or the automotive industry.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of salaried and hourly employees
- Build rapport with current and potential customers
- Grow the AXVOR brand in the region
- Manage P&L responsibilities
- Oversee project management and launch management
- Create direction for departments through daily and weekly meetings with direct reports
- Maintain and improve employee experience through employee engagement
- Collaborate with corporate resources
- Direct, coordinate, and assign work activities; monitor, review, and evaluate work product, methods, and procedures
- Apply lean processing principles and drive continuous improvement
- Establish and maintain effective KPIs, monitor performance, and initiate improvement opportunities
- Produce productivity reports and turn data into business cases for fact-based decisions
- Develop and manage operations budgets to ensure compliance with company and customer requirements
- Communicate with customers to handle escalated partner service issues or complaints
- Exceed client-customer expectations
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and corresponding work instructions
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Materials Management, and/or Engineering required
- A minimum of five years of experience at an operational level related to Logistics/Supply Chain Management
- Automotive and/or Third-Party Logistics experience is required
- VAA or manufacturing experience is required
- Sales experience and established network
- Safety mindset
- Start-Up, Equipment Installation, and Launch Experience required
- Understanding and experience of assembly tooling and equipment, including robotics
- Strong customer interfacing skills, 24/7 availability via cell phone
- Strong knowledge and experience in problem-solving using Root Cause Analysis, Safety, Labor Relations, and Worker’s Compensation
- Demonstrated experience with performing Layered Audits
- ERP/WMS proficiency (SAP preferable)
- Experience with Continuous Improvement and Lean Processing Principles
- Demonstrated successes related to launching operations
- Logistics/Supply Chain background to include proficiency in Third Party Services such as Part Sequencing, JIT, Value-Added, Sub-Assembly, Kitting, Repack, Deconsolidation, and Bulk and Small Lot Metering (preferred)
