About the role
This entry-level General Maintenance position assists with general tasks around the worksite, introduces the industry, and assesses long-term development potential under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections, lubricate moving parts, and complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to prevent component failures.
- Troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components, including conveyor belts, idlers, pulleys, and water pumps.
- Perform structural repairs, hard facing, and replace heavy wear-parts (such as crusher liners and shaker screens) using welding, cutting, and grinding equipment.
- Strictly adhere to MSHA and OSHA regulations, execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, and maintain a hazard-free work area.
- Observe aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas during operation to identify anomalies by sight or sound and perform minor adjustments.
- Record and maintain service logs, lubrication reports, and maintenance records for plant equipment.

Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience in maintenance, preferably with heavy equipment and machines.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety and ability to follow safety procedures.
- General awareness of tools and equipment used on-site.
- Willingness to learn mechanical and maintenance fundamentals.
- Exposure to preventative maintenance processes under supervision.
- Entry-level mechanic qualified to perform general utility work and light maintenance under supervision of an experienced mechanic.
- Knowledge of using a wide variety of hand and power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical equipment maintenance.
- Safety and compliance with MSHA procedures and requirements.
- Valid driver's license.
