About the role
The role of Plant Logistics Specialist at Starbucks involves completing required documentation of product and raw material movement, supporting scheduled production throughput levels, coordinating movement of raw materials, ensuring product availability, performing inventory counts, and maintaining product quality.
Responsibilities
- Completes required documentation of product and raw material movement.
- Supports scheduled production throughput levels to meet team goals for reliability and budget standards.
- Captures and records material requirements using manual or automated systems.
- Performs inventory counts and identifies ways to minimize material outages.
- Maintains product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, Food Safety Preventative Controls, product specifications, and quality procedures.
- Ensures compliance with quality, legality, and food safety standards.
- Operates required material handling equipment and follows safety guidelines.
- Supports food safety, legality, and quality programs.
- Performs other duties as needed in support of business objectives and Starbucks Mission & Values.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED, US military service or equivalent.
- Forklift certified.
- Manufacturing or distribution environment experience (2 years).
- Material handling experience (1 year).
- Regulated food manufacturing environment experience (1 year).
Qualifications
- Clear and concise communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to operate required material handling equipment.
- Understanding of equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems and their applications (preferred).
- Familiarity with food safety regulatory requirements and global standards including Preventive Controls for Human Food (FDA Code of Federal Regulations) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) (preferred).
