Plant Human Resources Generalist
About the Role
This position is responsible for recruitment and selection for plant workers, onboarding new employees, guiding them through company benefits and safety programs, handling employee relations, overseeing site timekeeping, and supporting the implementation and administration of the annual compensation program for the plant.
Responsibilities
- Manage the recruiting function for plant positions, including posting, sourcing, interviewing, and coordinating pre-employment testing
- Organize and conduct new employee orientation, onboarding, and site training programs
- Administer and assist in entering site timekeeping
- Benefits communication and actions
- Investigate employees' complaints and be a resource for employee questions
- Ensure proper employee communications on HR-related items
- Maintain employee records and paperwork confidentially
- Represent employer in community and recruiting events
- Assist as needed in site safety programs and workers compensation claims
- Coordinate site employee events, such as picnics and holiday celebrations
- Assist with Human Resources policy and project development
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned or apparent
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience required; bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- General knowledge of employment laws and best practices

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Contacts: Internal - Continuously (67-100%), External - Occasionally (6-33%). Contacts involve giving or exchanging information of a limited controversial nature.
- Regularly communicates via phone, email, in person, and via Teams
- Required to sit and perform keyboard work for prolonged periods
- Operates a computer and other office equipment such as a copy machine and printer
- Frequently talks and hears to coordinate day-to-day phone and in-person transactions
- Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 20 lbs.
- Travel to other locations may be required
- Standard office environment with usually low noise levels due to office equipment
