About the Role

O-I’s Lapel plant offers a strong sense of community in a small Midwestern town, with proximity to Indianapolis and its urban amenities. The Plant HR Generalist will assist in executing staffing, payroll, performance management, employee development, training, and succession planning, driving the implementation of HR processes and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Train and monitor work accuracy of payroll/HR responsibilities with managers.
  • Maintain and reconcile all hourly payroll files and data for the plant, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Process weekly plant hourly payroll, including balancing general ledger interfaces and preparing regular and special payroll reports.
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefit and compensation programs and other HR company initiatives.
  • Partner with Plant HR Manager for disability processing, relocation coordination, HR requisition and PAF process, maintaining employee files, and performance plan tracking and record keeping.
  • Assist in the execution of labor and employee relations activities that drive productivity and efficiency.
  • Assist with grievance administration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Previous experience in payroll administration in a fast-paced environment preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of Ceridian DayForce and SAP is a plus.

Pay

The expected salary range for this position is between $70,000 - $80,000 and includes a possible 12% short-term incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
