Duties/ Responsibilities
- Inspect and evaluate trees, shrubs, and landscape plants for signs of disease, insects, nutrient deficiencies, and environmental stress.
- Perform plant health care treatments including fertilization, soil injections, root collar excavations, pest management, and disease control applications.
- Mix and apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and fertilizers according to label requirements and company standards.
- Operate spray equipment, injection systems, skid steers, utility vehicles, and other equipment associated with PHC services.
- Maintain accurate records of treatments performed, products used, and customer recommendations.
- Monitor treatment effectiveness and make recommendations for follow-up services.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding treatment plans, plant health concerns, and service recommendations.
- Conduct site assessments and identify potential safety hazards before beginning work.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and vehicles in safe operating condition.
- Follow all company, OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations.
- Assist with tree care operations and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required pesticide applicator licenses/certifications.
- Basic knowledge of tree and shrub species, pests, diseases, and plant health care practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Preferred
- Previous experience in arboriculture, landscaping, horticulture, agriculture, or plant health care.
- ISA Certified Arborist certification.
- State pesticide applicator license.
- CDL or ability to obtain one.
- Experience operating spray equipment and application systems.
