Plant Fitter (Mobile)

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive / reactive maintenance and service repair activities to our fleet of TOHL Plant & Equipment, including hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Conduct fault finding and diagnostics to rectify all types of Mechanical & Electrical faults on large diesel driven plant.
• Communicate effectively with the Plant Depot Team and Project Site Teams.
• Raising of Purchase Requisitions.
• Liaise with Equipment Manufacturers and key suppliers for technical and complex issues ensuring the most cost-effective solutions are provided.
• Continually seek improvements in the Plant Depot Workshop and working practices.
• Explore innovative solutions and new plant and equipment.
• Accurately logging, recording and completing jobs as required.
• Ensure that all Omexom Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures are adhered to, adopting a safe method of working at all times.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar role within a Plant / Mechanical Workshop environment.
• Relevant qualification within a Plant / Mechanical discipline.
• Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Hold a Full UK Driving Licence.

Qualifications and experience

• A valid Forklift Truck and / or Telehandler Operators’ certificate (desirable).
• Computer literate – able to use MS Word, Excel & Outlook comfortably (desirable).
• A Welding qualification (desirable).
• A Mechanical / Electrical qualification (desirable).
• A Safety qualification (e.g. SMSTS, CSCS, IOSH) or willingness to work towards one (desirable).
