Plant Engineering Manager

The Plant Engineering Manager position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. You will lead and manage Plant Engineering, Utilities, and Facilities functions to ensure uninterrupted operations and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities

- Lead and manage Plant Engineering, Utilities, and Facilities functions to ensure uninterrupted operations and compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement projects, investigate alternative technologies, and introduce best practices to enhance plant performance.
- Manage budgets, resources, and workforce planning, ensuring optimal utilization and cost-effectiveness.
- Supervise installation, commissioning, and maintenance of production and utility equipment to support production targets.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Process Engineering, Division/Facility Engineering, HSE, Materials, Warehousing, and Lean/CI teams to resolve issues and improve efficiency.
- Provide technical expertise, guidance, and training to subordinates on critical Plant Engineering KPIs and practices.
- Implement and ensure use of a Reliability Framework and Asset Management System to drive continual improvements.
- Manage contracts and vendor relationships associated with plant engineering and maintenance services.
- Develop and manage site Capital budget to ensure timely and efficient equipment installations to support overall Plant Operating Plan.
- Develop self and others at multiple levels of the organization, continually improving and striving for excellence through supervision, recognition, policy and regulatory/safety/legal compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
- Seven (7) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
- Five (5) years of supervisory and/or management experience in a private, public, government or military.
- Three (3) years of manufacturing maintenance/reliability experience.
- Experience managing large scale engineering budgets, including planning, allocation, and cost control oversight for complex plant operations.
- Secondary Degree or higher in Engineering or related Technical Field (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution preferred.
- Experience coaching, mentoring and developing Supervisors as well as their peers and influencing higher levels of the organization.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis and Lean/Continuous Improvement.
- Basic understanding of Environmental and Regulatory Compliance, NFPA, and OSHA standards.
- Certified Reliability Leader (CRL), Certified Maintenance Manager, Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional, RE or CAMA certification.
Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Pay & Benefits
The expected compensation range for this position is $188,251 - $230,084, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
