About the role
The Plant Controller manages the financial and accounting function of the Fremont, Nebraska operations center for Woodland Foods LLC, a premier food company specializing in custom blending, formulation, and packaging of world-class spices.
Responsibilities
- Performs all month-end closing procedures, prepares monthly financial results, and presents financial performance on a periodic basis.
- Ensures balance sheet integrity, compliance with accounting policies and procedures, and enforces strong internal controls.
- Administers and manages the Company’s implementation of NetSuite ERP with Oracle/NetSuite.
- Manages transaction accounting processes, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and HR, Inventory, and Fixed Asset Subsystems of NetSuite.
- Maintains accounting controls and procedures necessary for audits by a CPA firm.
- Supports external auditors and tax advisors with information for annual filings.
- Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; self-directed and accountable.
- Works well in teams with an ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
Skills
- BS Accounting/Finance (MBA a plus).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with cost accounting principles and practices.
- Detailed working knowledge of NetSuite ERP (a plus).
- CPA or CMA certification (a plus).
- Thorough understanding of US GAAP.
- 5+ years of industry-related experience.
