We are looking for a Plant Controller to lead financial oversight for our manufacturing operation in Fremont, Nebraska. This role combines hands-on accounting leadership with business partnership, ensuring accurate reporting, sound controls, and meaningful analysis that supports operational decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly close cycle, ensuring timely completion of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting packages along with relevant operating metrics.
- Deliver recurring financial updates to leadership, highlighting performance trends and explaining key differences from budget, forecast, and prior-year results.
- Maintain the accuracy of balance sheet accounts by overseeing reconciliations, enforcing accounting standards, and strengthening internal control practices.
- Direct day-to-day transaction accounting activities across the general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll-related coordination, inventory, and fixed asset records.
- Oversee accounting procedures that support audit readiness and help ensure financial records can be reviewed efficiently by external auditors.
- Partner with auditors and tax advisors by organizing documentation, answering inquiries, and supplying information needed for annual reporting requirements.
- Support and manage NetSuite administration and related system activities, including process oversight tied to Oracle NetSuite implementation needs.
- Contribute to additional finance and operational initiatives as assigned to support the broader goals of the business.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting methods, including standard cost practices and manufacturing finance principles.
- Demonstrated experience with month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting.
- Working knowledge of NetSuite; deeper system expertise is strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and the accounting controls needed to maintain accurate, auditable financial records.
- Advanced organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels of the organization.
