Plant Controller

About the role
The Plant Controller is responsible for providing high-level accounting support to our Paris, IL manufacturing plant. This role plays a key role in the finance department, offering expertise and leadership in various accounting and financial functions. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, analyze financial data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Perform complex reconciliations for accounts such as inventory, intercompany transactions, and revenue recognition.
- Assist in developing and managing the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support strategic decision-making.
- Review and analyze variances between actual financial results and budgeted targets, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the preparation of financial data for audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance department.
- Participate in cost analysis and provide recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
- Collaborate with the cost accounting team to analyze product costs and recommend cost-saving strategies.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and industry trends and implement best practices accordingly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and lead a project team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products.
Pay
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000–$125,000, plus bonus.
