About the role
The Central Plant Operator is responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining equipment within a central utility plant, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and other HVAC systems. This role ensures efficient and safe heating and cooling distribution throughout the facility, responds to emergencies, and performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Implementation & Maintenance: Install, calibrate, and maintain BAS components and software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve BAS system issues promptly.
- Technical Oversight: Analyze and optimize BAS performance.
- Provide manufacturer-specific expertise and maintain certifications.
- Resource & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with other trades and departments to optimize system integration.
- Maintain system documentation and training records.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Work in technical, office, and field facility environments. Ability to work at computer stations and within mechanical/electrical rooms.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Secret Clearance required.
- High school diploma required.
- Experience in HVAC systems required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Central Plant Operator.
