Plant Accountant

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close process for plant accounting activities, ensuring deadlines are met and financial results are recorded accurately.
• Prepare and post journal entries related to operational transactions, accruals, and other routine accounting adjustments.
• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, resolving discrepancies, and supporting accurate financial data.
• Perform account reconciliations on a regular basis and investigate outstanding items to ensure balances are complete and supportable.
• Complete bank reconciliations and address variances promptly to maintain accurate cash records.
• Support manufacturing cost accounting by analyzing production-related expenses, inventory movements, and cost allocations.
• Aid in the preparation of financial reports for plant leadership and corporate stakeholders, highlighting key trends and variances.
• Partner with operations and finance teams to strengthen accounting controls and improve the accuracy of plant financial information.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in senior-level accounting responsibilities, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of month-end close procedures, general ledger management, and journal entry preparation.
• Hands-on experience with account reconciliations and bank reconciliation processes.
• Understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles and plant-level financial analysis.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate financial reports and interpret accounting results.
• Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
