About the role
The City Mount Holly Planning Department is seeking a part-time intern for Fall 2026. The intern will work up to 16 hours per week and will be either a junior/senior in a bachelor program or a master’s student studying planning, public administration, or a closely related field.
Responsibilities
- Project work: Examples include text amendments, rezonings, assisting with events, story map creation, etc.
- Routine office work: Research, filing, taking meeting minutes, proofing documents, and assisting with customer greeting.
- Shadow other departments and work units in the City.
- Attend City Council and advisory board meetings.
Requirements
- Junior/Senior in a bachelor program or Master’s student studying planning, public administration, or a closely related field.
- Ability to work in-person from August 17th to November 20th.
- Pass a background check and drug screen.
Qualifications
- Projects in mind preferred, but will be assigned by the Planning Department if not provided.
- Experience in all four Planning Department sections: Administration, Planning, Permitting & Code Enforcement, and GIS Mapping.

Benefits

- Pay range: $14.00 to $16.00 an hour based on educational attainment.
- Computer and phone provided by the City for work facilitation.
