About the role

The Planning and Scheduling Manager oversees all aspects of WIPP schedule development, maintenance, monitoring, reporting, and recovery plan development activities. This position provides overall management of project organizational and administrative activities related to planning and scheduling, including compliance, training, procedure development, and supervises the development and integration of individual schedules into the total project plan.

The role establishes project milestones, supervises schedule resource loading and leveling, supports development of scheduling standards and procedures, and provides direction to the scheduling team. The manager ensures the Integrated Master schedules (IMS) comply with established DOE Quality Standards and are executed within the SIMCO EVMS system description. This position includes supervising 3 direct reports and 2 indirect (matrixed deployed planners supporting Capital Asset Projects and MCP).

Due to the importance of planning and scheduling to overall EVMS compliance, this is a senior managerial role requiring extensive experience to respond timely to non-standard requests for support and direction, including problem-solving and liaison with senior management across multiple departments. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, proactive, and expected to engage directly with both the customer and senior SIMCO and Bechtel management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of WIPP schedule development, maintenance, monitoring, reporting, and recovery plan development.
  • Manage project organizational and administrative activities related to planning and scheduling, including compliance, training, and procedure development.
  • Supervise the development and integration of individual schedules into the total project plan.
  • Establish project milestones and supervise schedule resource loading and leveling.
  • Support the development of scheduling standards and procedures and provide direction to the scheduling team.
  • Provide direction and support for the integration of subcontractor schedules.
  • Ensure Integrated Master schedules (IMS) comply with DOE Quality Standards and are executed within the SIMCO EVMS system description.
  • Supervise 3 direct reports and 2 indirect (matrixed deployed planners).
  • Engage directly with customer and senior management to address non-standard requests and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with nineteen (19) years of relevant experience, or
  • Associate’s degree with twenty-three (23) years of relevant experience, or
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency with twenty-seven (27) years of relevant experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must be authorized to work and remain in the United States without SIMCO visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the WIPP Site (even if teleworking).
  • Non-U.S. citizens from countries identified by the Department of Energy as posing heightened security concerns are subject to additional security requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Bechtel experience.
  • Prior DOE experience.
  • Prior WIPP experience.
  • Expert analytical and computer skills.
  • Experience representing the client and reviewing/integrating contractor schedules.

Pay

Salary range: $134,030 to $237,594 per year. Exempt grade level(s) 36-38. The specific salary offered will be influenced by the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
