About the role
The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning agency for the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area, providing essential services such as transportation, wastewater collection and treatment, growth and development of local communities, affordable housing programs, and regional park systems. The Community Development division handles regional long-range planning, technical assistance to local governments, planning and funding for regional parks and open space, rent assistance through the Metropolitan Housing and Redevelopment Authority, and the Livable Communities Act grant programs.
This position is a senior-level individual contributor and project manager within a small, collaborative Housing Forward Cities project team, responsible for managing project activities and budget. Housing Forward Cities is a grant-funded initiative aimed at changing long-term market conditions and breaking down policy and practice barriers to affordable housing, while advancing the goals of the Imagine 2050 regional development guide. This role is eligible for hybrid (remote and onsite) teleworking.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications include any of the following combinations of completed education and experience, with at least two years of project management or team lead experience:
- High school diploma/GED and nine (9) years of experience in program administration, implementation, public sector planning, grant coordination, land use planning, housing policy, community development, economic development, or a related field.
- Associate degree and seven (7) years of experience (major coursework in city, urban, or environmental planning and policy, or a related field).
- Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience.
- Master’s degree and three (3) years of experience.
Pay
Salary range: $95,804.80 – $155,396.80 annually.
