About the role
Under general guidance, the Maintenance Electrical Planner develops work plans and procures resources to facilitate efficient and cost-effective execution of routine maintenance, outage work, and specific projects. This role requires proficiency in work management best practices and the ability to apply them effectively. The planner must use CMMS/EAP, purchasing, and financial software to meet work management process requirements and be familiar with maintenance repair processes to develop appropriate job steps.
Responsibilities
- Develop work plans for routine maintenance, outage work, and projects.
- Procure materials and resources necessary to execute work plans and projects.
- Perform job hazard analyses for mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks and provide appropriate permits (LOTO, hot work, confined space, etc.).
- Review and analyze maintenance histories to improve processes and make work plans more productive or cost-effective.
- Prepare routine maintenance reports and resource-loaded maintenance schedules.
- Lead work request review meetings and communicate effectively across plant departments.
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of generating station electrical maintenance experience is preferred; other planning experience will be considered.
- Working knowledge of industry work management best practices.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal, technical, financial, and estimating/planning skills.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office.
- Experience using EAP, SAP, and scheduling software applications preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and meet deadlines.
- Willingness and ability to learn and teach in a union environment.
- Able to support a 24/7 operation.
Qualifications
- Additional consideration for candidates with project management certification and/or a bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology from an accredited college/university.
