Planner/Buyer

About the role

Prysmian Group is the world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry. This position is accountable to the Materials Manager.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and expedite required materials through production departments to satisfy customer delivery while optimizing production efficiencies and inventory investment.
• Establish effective systems and operating procedures to provide materials at the lowest ultimate cost and with the highest quality.
• Optimize inventory investments in raw material and finished goods, while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction levels.
• Work with vendors in ordering and releasing raw materials and establish kanban's and supplier managed inventory (SMI) procedures.
• Collaborate with the Master Scheduler and plant personnel on continuous improvement methods in scheduling and inventory control.

Qualifications

• AS degree in related discipline – preferred (HS Diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of similar experience – required.)
• BS degree in related – preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in at least one of the following: Supply Chain; Production Planning; or Logistics.
• Experience in MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning).
• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment working with SAP or ERP system experience.
• Intermediate or advanced Excel experience – required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience reporting data, with extreme attention to detail.
• Customer service skills and ability to work with a team or work independently.
• Strong sense of urgency, strong problem-solving skills, and Business Acumen.
• Excellent Time Management Skills, and ability to multi-task.
