Planner/Buyer

Essential Functions ProcurementManage procurement of assigned goods / commodities in agreement with company policies and objectives.Manage transactional activities related to the quotation, purchase, and delivery of assigned commodities.Review requisitions for accuracy and completeness.Continually work to improve data accuracy and system integrity.Develop and utilize preferred delivery programs. Supplier ManagementManage supplier relationships, analyze performance, and provide feedback.Track and analyze commodity metrics to develop and implement improvement plans.Actively pursue supply-base rationalization.Evaluate supplier capabilities and performance.Support new supplier identification / qualificationIssue resolutionDefective material returnsCorrective action requestsInvoicingSupport engineering change noticesSupport contract manufacturing opportunitiesCommodity KnowledgeAct as subject matter expert for assigned commodity groupsConstruct, present, and promote commodity procurement plansPursue product standardization and optimization initiativesCollect and analyze commodity data OtherBuild and maintain relationships with internal customers to identify and address needs, and develop improvement opportunitiesPursue continuous improvement / TCO (total cost of ownership) projects with operations, engineering, and suppliersWork with various departments to support projects and new product introductionsPlan and monitor production jobsParticipate in production and daily management meetingsReview customer orders and coordinate promise dates with customer service Knowledge/Skills Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain or other related field requiredAt least 3 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment+Proficiency in planning/scheduling, including 3+ years of supply chain and/or materials management experience in a manufacturing environmentERP experience Physical Requirements Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach and walk.
