About the role
Supports production through sales order management, forecast management, customer interface, and work order maintenance. Develops and maintains production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products while optimizing efficiency and minimizing downtime.
Responsibilities
- Enters sales orders and acknowledges ship dates
- Monitors pricing on incoming orders to ensure they match quotes to avoid short pays
- Revises schedules and issues work orders to suit order changes, cancellations and/or revised forecasts
- Determines revised plan in the event of failures to meet schedules
- Manages customer relationships by notifying customers in the event of failures to meet expectations, completing customer requests for information, and serving as point of contact for customers
- Coordinates scheduled shipments with the Shipping Department
- Reviews and evaluates forecasts
- Researches late parts, identifies and brings bottlenecks to manufacturing's attention
- Works closely with engineering to implement engineering changes and monitors structure (bill of material) problems
- Expedites, as needed, any late deliveries from outside vendors, sub-contract, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in related field, or equivalent experience required
- Two years of relevant experience required
- Prior experience in the manufacturing industry preferred
Skills
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency with production planning software and ERP systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices
