About the role
The Plan Services Specialist I is primarily responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of plans assigned within the group, which typically includes retirement plans of varying levels of complexity, size and relationship sensitivity. Although the position operates within defined policies and procedures, this position has decision-making authority and responsibility.

To better assist with daily processing, we focus on load leveling and knowledge sharing to ensure cross-coverage and plan knowledge. We accomplish this through daily huddles and info sessions.
Responsibilities
- Perform all daily and cyclical activities in compliance with applicable regulations, tax laws, and the governing document specific to each retirement plan.
- Issue new loans and distributions.
- Generate reports and participant statements, while being responsible for quality control.
- Research and resolve any cash or asset exceptions.
- Investigate and respond to inquiries from Reconciliation, Participant Service Group, or the Relationship Management team regarding problems, complaints, or requests.
- Work closely with project coordinators to execute changes in investment selections within plans, fund mappings, or additions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
- 4-5 years’ experience in a payroll or trust environment; or equivalent work experience.
- Payroll or benefits experience is strongly preferred.
Working environment: Office.
