About the role

The Baldwin Group is an award-winning insurance brokerage firm focusing on Commercial Insurance, Private Insurance, Employee Benefits, Asset and Income Protection, and Risk Mitigation. The firm partners with clients to provide tailored insurance and risk management strategies.

Primary Responsibilities

  • In-depth knowledge of insurance products and services including policy forms, terms/conditions.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the insurance marketplace and develop significant relationships with key underwriters.
  • Absess client needs, design solutions, and negotiate with insurance carriers for appropriate coverage plans.
  • Market client business to various insurance carriers, submit applications for quotes, and negotiate favorable rates.
  • Stay current on industry news, products, coverage, and technology.
  • Consistently maintain a professional and appropriate demeanor.
  • Attend company meetings, educational workshops, carrier functions, staff meetings, and networking events.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Prepare written correspondence, reports, and analyses in a timely manner.
  • Analyze situations, identify problems, recommend solutions, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Demonstrate presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred and/or 10 years’ work-related experience.
  • Prefer some experience in an agency environment.
  • Active state insurance license required.
  • Professional designations a plus such as ARM, CPCU, CRM, or CIC.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Maintain all licenses as required by the State Department of Insurance.
