About the role

The PK Lab Technician will work in a dynamic clinical research environment, supporting early-phase clinical trials primarily involving healthy volunteers. The position involves both technical and administrative responsibilities, including specimen collection, processing, and coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain specimen collection conditions as assigned.
  • Notify staff of abnormal results, adverse events, or unusual incidents during collection.
  • Transport collected specimens to the processing laboratory as needed.
  • Ensure participant comfort, safety, and well-being throughout assigned shifts.
  • Prepare lab requisitions and coordinate sample send-out to external labs.
  • Label specimen collection tubes accurately.
  • Take on additional duties as needed, based on evolving project or organizational requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience in a clinical research lab setting (Phase 1 experience preferred).
  • Ability to operate and manage specialized laboratory instrumentation.
  • Willingness to be trained on client-provided equipment and follow protocol-specific processing requirements.
  • Comfortable with PK sample processing, QC, and lab workflows beyond basic collection/handling.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician and/or at least six months of phlebotomy experience in a medical setting.
  • BLS and/or ACLS certification preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)/ICH guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel) and comfort with clinical research software.
