Pizza Cook

About the role

The Pizza Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality pizzas and related menu items in accordance with established recipes, presentation standards, and food safety guidelines. This position plays a key role in delivering a consistent dining experience for members and guests while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workstation. The Pizza Cook works closely with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and culinary team to support daily operations and special events.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare pizza dough, sauces, cheeses, toppings, and other ingredients according to established recipes and standards.
• Assemble and cook pizzas using designated ovens and equipment.
• Ensure all pizzas are prepared and presented consistently and meet quality expectations.
• Monitor cooking times, temperatures, and product quality throughout service.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pizza ingredients and notify supervisors of shortages.
• Follow portion control and food cost management procedures.
• Aid with preparation of additional menu items as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including pizza ovens, prep areas, and storage areas.
• Aid with receiving, rotating, and properly storing food deliveries.
• Support banquet, catering, and special event operations as assigned.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen team members to ensure timely and efficient service.
• Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous pizza-making, line cook, or culinary experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
• Experience working with pizza ovens and dough preparation preferred.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to work in hot kitchen environments near ovens and cooking equipment.
