Tetra Tech is seeking a Mid to Senior Piping Designer for our Englewood, CO, Casper, WY, and Billings, MT offices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design and drafting support for pipeline, pump station, compressor station, and terminal/tank projects nationwide.
  • Work with multi-disciplined engineering and design teams.
  • Utilize 3D modeling and design software.
  • Apply piping specifications and design codes/standards.
  • Conduct field walk-downs of facilities.
  • Mentor junior-level designers and provide guidance.
  • Develop mechanical drawings including Overall Site plans, Piping Plans, Isometric drawings and views, Ortho views, and Typical Details.
  • Create piping component files for stress analysis calculations.
  • Develop reports for material take-offs.
  • Interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design, or equivalent.
  • 5–15 years of experience in 3D design and/or drafting.
  • Basic 3D design/drafting skills including experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Plant 3D, CADWorx, and/or Revit.
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Exposure to Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, Projectwise, and SharePoint is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter capable of handling solo projects as well as working with a group, eager to learn and expand your skillset, and detail-oriented.
  • Experience with Autodesk Plant3D, Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Navisworks, CADWorx, Autodesk Revit, and Autodesk Civil 3D.

Physical Requirements

  • Constantly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Constantly use hands to keyboard or type, handle materials, or manipulate objects.
  • Light work that includes lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds and, occasionally, up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently moving about to accomplish tasks.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
  • Requires composure and ability to prioritize and handle several urgent tasks simultaneously with high competence and accuracy.
  • Occasionally climbing stairs and ladders to read meters at active oil & gas sites.

Work Environment

Work is primarily conducted in an indoor office environment but may include exposure to extreme temperatures, fumes, variable weather conditions, outdoor work, and noise due to travel and worksite visits.

Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt position. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Pay

Target salary range: $60,000 to $120,000. Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including education, relevant work experience, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies.
