About the Role

Performs brazing to install refrigeration components and assists with unit layout and setup in accordance with established standards.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, assemble, and install copper and steel tubing.
• Perform brazing tasks, including:
  • Use torch to apply solder (braze copper to copper pipes).
  • Brazing fundamentals.
  • Operate copper saw and tube bender.
  • Flare making.
  • Suction piping and discharge piping.
• Pressurize and leak-check units.
• Use tools such as tube cutters, hand vise, power benders, files, flaring/swedging tools, and torch.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
