Pipeline Project Engineer

About the role

Kleinfelder, a Forbes' Top Employer for Engineers in North America, is seeking a Pipeline Project Engineer to join our Columbus, OH office. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, 6-10 years of relevant experience, and a Professional Engineer (PE) certification. The role involves developing and applying engineering techniques, preparing pipeline designs, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare pipeline designs, including calculations, drawings, profiles, details, layouts, and studies from field inspections, preliminary sketches, specifications, and instructions.
• Evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform pipeline projects ranging in size and complexity.
• Acquire and analyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methods, conduct gas system network and hydraulic analyses, prepare construction specifications and bid packages, and conduct alternative/feasibility studies.
• Create status reports detailing task completion, progress, challenges, and solutions, and coordinate various inspection and testing methods.
• Work closely with other workgroups at clients' sites and Kleinfelder offices, assign tasks to and coordinate with drafting and administrative staff, and provide guidance, instruction, and coaching to entry-level and other Engineers.
• Support business development and marketing initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
• 6-10 years of relevant experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred
• Working knowledge of CAD and GIS software
• Technical communication skills
• Proficient use of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
• Utility business understanding
• Valid Driver's license
• Knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations Title 42 Part 192
