About the role
The Business Unit Leader at Michelin is responsible for leading their team towards success in creating sustainable value for People, Profit, and Planet. They are accountable for developing areas of excellence within their Business Unit, ensuring performance today and tomorrow.
Responsibilities
- Safety leadership: Demonstrate good safety practices and adhere to Safety guidelines.
- Member of the Operations team: Drive Shop performance, share best practices, and collaborate on Plant performance.
- People developer: Deploy a life-long learning mindset, develop and promote career paths, and support competency development through mentoring and coaching.
- Good Communication Skills: Provide positive and constructive feedback and align the vision at the shop level.
- Representative/Role model of the Company values, purpose & strategy: Live out the values, motivate teams, and ensure alignment with the Plant strategy.
- Customer & business partner: Understand customer needs, steer Business Unit focus, and support local teams for industrializations, modifications, digitalization, and industry transformations.
- Environment promoter: Promote a culture of sustainability and compliance with environmental strategies.
- ICARE & Empowerment role model: Lead with ICARE, foster inclusion, and empower the team through engagement of shop Support Teams.
- Operational Excellence Leader: Ensure activities are driven by MMW practices, sustain foundations, reduce variation and non-added value tasks, and achieve SMQDC performance levels.
- Digital and Innovation contributor: Seek opportunities to apply digital applications, build foundational elements for transformation, and trigger projects aligned with Michelin strategy.
Requirements
- BS degree in a technical field preferred, Master's degree is a plus.
- 8+ years of overall experience, preferred in a process-centered manufacturing environment and 5+ years of growing management/leadership responsibility or applicable military experiences.
- Strong history of successfully managing teams or units.
- Outstanding Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and influence others!
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate throughout all levels of the company.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve goals using organization change principles.
