Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, repair, and maintain plumbing lines, piping systems, fixtures, and accessories
- Determine routing and location of lines, accessories, equipment, and related components
- Make pipe connections by sweating, leading, threading, screwing, bolting, or other approved methods
- Calculate pipe sizes, connection requirements, and materials needed for assigned work
- Install and test hydraulic, compressed air, fire sprinkler, steam, and other pressure systems
- Install and test sanitary plumbing fixtures and related systems
- Perform functional tests to verify proper installation and system operation
- Troubleshoot major breakdowns, diagnose issues, and take corrective action
- Perform work in accordance with trade practices, work orders, plumbing codes, and safety requirements
- Perform all tasks incidental to pipefitting/plumbing maintenance work
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of pipefitting, plumbing, or related maintenance experience
- Working knowledge of plumbing and piping systems, trade practices, and applicable plumbing codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, specifications, and work orders
- Ability to troubleshoot piping/plumbing system failures and perform corrective repairs
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule
- Able to work outside normal schedules and adjust work hours to support operational requirements
- Able to obtain and maintain certifications required for the position
- Valid REAL ID driver’s license
- Able to obtain and maintain required NASA site access and credentials
- Able to pass required background screening and drug testing
Qualifications
- Experience supporting NASA, Federal, or government contractor environments
- Experience working in industrial, facility maintenance, or mission-critical environments
- Experience with steam, compressed air, hydraulic, fire sprinkler, chemical, or pressure piping systems
