Basic Job Functions

Aid in the planning, layout, and execution of various pipe fitting and fabrication tasks, adhering to all relevant plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive relationships with fellow crew members.
  • Ensure high-quality work is produced safely and efficiently.
  • Provide feedback to improve materials, tools, equipment, and information accessibility.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements.
  • Understand and adhere to all safety protocols related to the work.
  • Show proficiency in basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Learn and operate necessary tools and equipment safely.
  • Minimize waste in all aspects of the work.
  • Ask for guidance from supervisors if unsure about work aspects or safety.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • One to two years' experience in industrial/commercial construction.
  • NCCER Core Curriculum or equivalent high school diploma.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

The position involves assisting in the planning, laying out, and performing of pipe fitting and fabrication tasks. The role requires maintaining positive relationships with the crew, ensuring high-quality work, providing feedback, identifying opportunities for improvement, understanding safety protocols, demonstrating basic math skills, learning to use tools and equipment safely, minimizing waste, and asking for guidance when needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Up to 12-hour shifts.
  • Perform hard physical work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
  • May need to climb, maintain balance on structures, and use hands for grasping, lifting, handling, carrying, or feeling objects.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend occasionally.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment.
  • Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
