About the role
The Pipe Welder performs installation and repair duties in commercial or public buildings.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret drawings and P&ID schematics
- Work independently and as a team member
- Prepare large bore weld pipe
- Knowledge of all fitting take-outs for screw and weld fittings
- Work with carbon steel piping, stainless steel piping, stainless steel tubing, PVC, Copper, and weld pipe
- Troubleshoot issues with systematic, thoughtful, timely, and practical solutions and procedures
- Demonstrate proper and safe use of tools and related equipment
- Provide quality, professional customer-related services
- Communicate effectively individually and in a team environment
- Handle disruptions professionally
- Work independently in a commercial setting
Requirements
- Five years experience in the piping/welding field
- Essential hand tools expected for trade
- Dependable and a team player
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screen and satisfactorily complete additional background checks (i.e. DMV, criminal history)

- Frequent use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and standing throughout the day
- Frequent climbing, reaching above shoulder height, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Occasional lifting of heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
- Exposure to varying temperatures and all weather conditions
- May work with or around typical construction materials and chemicals requiring safety data sheet knowledge
- Depending on the position, may need to ride or drive in a vehicle for two or more hours at a time

Pay
$19–38 per hour (depending on experience and education/certifications)
