Pipe Welder

About the role

The Pipe Welder performs installation and repair duties in commercial or public buildings.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and P&ID schematics
• Work independently and as a team member
• Prepare large bore weld pipe
• Knowledge of all fitting take-outs for screw and weld fittings
• Work with carbon steel piping, stainless steel piping, stainless steel tubing, PVC, Copper, and weld pipe
• Troubleshoot issues with systematic, thoughtful, timely, and practical solutions and procedures
• Demonstrate proper and safe use of tools and related equipment
• Provide quality, professional customer-related services
• Communicate effectively individually and in a team environment
• Handle disruptions professionally
• Work independently in a commercial setting

Requirements

• Five years experience in the piping/welding field
• Essential hand tools expected for trade
• Dependable and a team player
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screen and satisfactorily complete additional background checks (i.e. DMV, criminal history)

• Frequent use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and standing throughout the day
• Frequent climbing, reaching above shoulder height, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
• Occasional lifting of heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
• Exposure to varying temperatures and all weather conditions
• May work with or around typical construction materials and chemicals requiring safety data sheet knowledge
• Depending on the position, may need to ride or drive in a vehicle for two or more hours at a time

Pay

$19–38 per hour (depending on experience and education/certifications)
