Pipe Welder

CEIS Power is seeking an experienced Pipe Welder for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a leading industrial manufacturing and service company in the Houston area. This position is ideal for a welder with strong shop experience who is comfortable performing high-quality pipe welds in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform 6G fixed-position pipe welding using MIG (GMAW) and Flux Core (FCAW)
• Weld on Schedule 80 pipe, with some Schedule 40 and occasional Schedule 10
• Complete welds to meet bend test and X-ray inspection requirements
• Read and interpret weld symbols, blueprints, and fabrication drawings
• Perform pipe fit-up, tacking, and joint preparation as needed
• Maintain quality, productivity, and safety standards in a manufacturing shop environment
• Work effectively under production deadlines and changing priorities

Requirements

• 2+ years of pipe welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication shop environment
• Experience performing 6G pipe welding
• Proficient with MIG and Flux Core welding processes
• Ability to pass a 6G fixed-position MIG/Flux “super coupon” weld test
• Familiarity with Schedule 80 piping preferred
• Ability to pass bend and X-ray testing
• Strong attention to detail and weld quality
• Reliable transportation and ability to work night shift

Candidates must be dependable, safety-focused, and capable of producing welds that meet X-ray quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with 6G pipe welding using MIG and Flux Core processes on heavy wall and process piping applications.
