The Pipe Superintendent oversees and directs field construction activities for assigned craft, ensuring alignment with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct work activities within assigned construction crafts, coordinating with engineering deliverables, tools, equipment, and materials, as well as other crafts.
• Approve or authorize coordination of craft personnel, material, and equipment to meet schedules.
• Support project and construction management with planning and utilization of proper means and methods for all construction activities.
• Analyze situations, identify and forecast problems, and evaluate realistic options; recommend and implement appropriate courses of action.
• Ensure all work is within approved scope boundaries and compliant with pertinent requirements.
• Foster an environment for the development and advancement of project personnel, including on-the-job and formal training.
• Apply craft certification, training, experience, and technical knowledge appropriate for the assignment scope.
• Adhere to company policies (including Safety and Human Resources), client policies, and OSHA safety requirements.
• Learn and apply knowledge of local, state, and federal statutes and guidelines.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed.

Requirements

• 10 years of Pipe experience, with a minimum of 5 years as a Journeyman.
• NCCER plus Pipe Fitter certification preferred.
• Completion of pre-hire and post-hire substance abuse testing as required by company and/or client.
• Completion of Safety-related certifications such as OSHA 10 or Safety council programs as required by company and/or client.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literate with the ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Travel is required.

Physical/Site Requirements

• Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas.
• Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
• Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
