Job Responsibilities
- Assign workers to specific duties.
- Inspect completed processing systems to determine conformance to specifications.
- Knowable of rigging systems to determine conformance to specifications.
- Knowable of rigging pipe and equipment for installation.
- May supervise workers engaged in maintenance and repair work.
- Assure welders are certified in appropriate welding procedures.
- Train subordinates in job specific requirements.
- Responsible for safety conformance of all crews.
- Study construction schedule and estimates work-hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet schedules.
- Recommend measures to improve productivity and quality of work performed.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assists worker in resolution.
- Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve project goals.
- Recommend or initiate personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures.
- Maintain time and productivity records.
- May inspect, estimate and requisition materials.
- Confer with other crafts to coordinate activities of crew or crews.
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass written PF test.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor/co-workers and understand direction from supervisor.
- Utilize basic math, blue book and a calculator to solve geometric problems associated with Pipe Fitting.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively, operate moving equipment and work in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments.
- Must be willing to work outside of craft.
- Candidate may be required to pass a drug test and criminal background check based on job location/requirements.
