Pipe Field Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support development of piping construction strategies for new-build and vessel modification projects
• Monitor piping installation progress and identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and schedule performance
• Provide field engineering support and piping-related technical solutions during construction
• Maintain and update piping drawings, redlines, and as-built documentation
• Cookordinate with engineering, production supervisors, foremen, and craft personnel regarding piping system installation
• Support construction, sing, flushing, and commissioning of marine piping systems
• Aid in routing and layout of piping systems while coordinating with structural, HVAC, and electrical disciplines
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, classification, and project requirements
• Participate in inspections, pressure sing, quality documentation, and system turnover activities
• Identify field conflicts and implement solutions to minimize rework and schedule impacts
• Support material selection, take-offs, procurement, and fabrication planning

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 7 years of shipyard experience involving vessel construction, modification, or repair projects with significant piping system responsibility
• Minimum 5 years supporting piping construction, fabrication, installation, or craft supervision
• Strong knowledge of marine piping systems, materials, fabrication methods, sing, and installation practices
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; marine design software experience preferred
• Familiarity with classification society and regulatory requirements
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced shipyard environment
