Pipe Crew Tailman

Responsibilities

• Assist the pipe layer in utility trench work.
• Prepare pipe for installation including beveling, installations of retainers, mastic, etc.
• Safely rig pipe and structures for lifting and placement in ditch.
• Install and assemble underground sewer, water, reuse, force main, and storm drain pipe.
• Set structures.
• Perform a variety of tasks involving physical labor.
• Lay water lines, storm water lines, sanitary lines, and other underground utilities.
• Able to perform manual labor including raking, shoveling, hooking up pumps, installing pipe, mixing concrete, carrying materials.
• Operate hand and power tools.
• Work under various field and weather conditions.
• Be able to lift 50 lbs, stand, walk, climb, kneel, bend, twist, push and pull.
• Wear required PPE as per safety manual and OSHA regulations.
• Work weekends if requested by Foreman.
• Communicate effectively with Foreman.
• Maintain reliable transportation to transport self to jobsites.
• Jobsites range from 10 to 80 miles in one direction.
• Must be drug-free.

Requirements

• No prior experience required; on-the-job training available.
