Pipe Crew Operator

General responsibilities

Aid in the installation of pipes for sewer and water lines.

Operate an excavator (350-470 size) and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.

• Must have experience digging for a pipe crew at times 20+ feet deep on line and grade.
• Perform daily checks on equipment.
• Communicate with Foreman/Superintendent, and crewmen to safely accomplish tasks.
• Safely dig and backfill as directed by management.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Understand basic principles of laying water main and gravity storm drain ranging in diameter from 8”-66”.
• Able to operate a rubber tire loader when needed.
• Willing to help crew with other activities when an operator is not needed.
• Proficient at layout reading survey points and measuring elevations.
• Good communication skills to work effectively and safely.
• Able to work overtime as required.

Qualifications
